- Profile: Profile pictures and user-generated ratings.
- Activity: Ride details (origin/destination), in-app messages, and usage patterns.
- Technical: Device type, OS, and location data when searching for rides.
2. How We Use Data
Your data is used strictly to facilitate safe transportation and community trust:
Logistics
Matching you with carpool partners and facilitating group communications.
Safety
Verifying UCLA status and maintaining community safety standards.
3. Security & Sharing
Your profile is only visible to other verified UCLA students. We never sell your data.
Our Security Stack
- Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest.
- Storage: AWS S3 for secure profile assets.
- Encryption: All transit data secured via HTTPS/TLS.
- Passwords: Hashed using industry-standard bcrypt.
4. Your Rights
You have full autonomy over your data. You may:
- Request a copy of your personal data.
- Update your profile information at any time.
- Permanently delete your account and all associated data via settings.
Note: Data deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
